3 Simple Steps to Plan Your Wedding Flowers

We know couples always have some questions when it comes to wedding flowers. That’s ok! We also know you probably have some great ideas and inspiration as well. If you’re here, you’re looking for a place to start, and we’re happy to help with that.

Let’s jump in:

1. Decide on what matters most to you.

When it comes to wedding planning- FOMO is real. The Pinterest Vortex is real. Family and traditions are real. Sometimes all of those factors can be tough to balance when planning your wedding. And can add a lot of potential confusion when it comes to figuring out the flowers.

We’ve been doing this a long time and have tried to come up with lots of solutions - from basic order forms, to flower recipes that simply change out the (floral) ingredients. But, we’ve learned that each wedding is just as unique as the couple.

So, our go-to advice is decide what matters most to you and let’s make that happen.

  • Want that giant statement bouquet. Let’s do it.

  • Don’t want any flowers at all - just greenery. Love it.

  • No bridesmaid bouquets, but yes to bridesmaid hair flowers. Done.

  • Getting married inside, but want it to feel like it’s outside. We got that.

You don’t have to get stuck with what a wedding is supposed to be. Feel free to be the wild, natural, elegant people you are.

2. Focus flowers where they have the most impact

The best way to make the wedding flowers feel memorable, is to make sure they are an experience. Flowers bring so much emotion, style, and fun to your wedding day. And everyone wants to experience that with you.

The best way to make that happen is to use flowers in highly trafficked or visible places at your venue and in your photos. Here’s our go to recs:

  • Bridal Bouquet - we personally feel it’s a must have. Check out our bouquet style guide (coming soon). Plus, our wedding flower service includes dropping off your bouquet wherever you’re getting ready. So, we make sure it’s part of your getting ready and first look photos.

  • Entrances - Everyone goes through the front door. It’s an easy way to set the tone and style of your event. These can be large statement arrangements, installs around tent entrances, or a simple romantic collection of bud vases.

  • Ceremony Focal - We love a wedding arch! But you can certainly get creative with the ceremony if you want - and it doesn’t have to be big. Check out some of these options from our More Modern Wedding arches guide!

  • Sweetheart Tables - In big giant reception rooms flowers help emphasize different areas. So some flowers on the dessert table, or a bud vase on the bar are easy suggestions. But our favorite flowers are highlighting a sweetheart table!

3. Work with a floral designer

A great floral designer brings so much to a wedding. We know you (or your wedding planner) are making a ton of creative decisions about the look and feel of your event. We take all of that input and bring in the finishing touch with flowers - I love working alongside couples. Our process includes asking a lot of questions, and listening to what you have to say. Here’s what that looks like for each couple

  • Complimentary Consultation - we chat all about you as a couple, what’s important to you (#1 above), and collaborate on wedding flower ideas.

  • Proposal - We synthesize all that information into a proposal that features custom flowers for your wedding - the right amount, right season, right atmosphere for your day.

  • Wedding Day - Our experienced team delivers to ALL your wedding locations, always arrives on time, sets up the flowers, and works alongside other vendors. Your wedding flowers will be effortlessly elegant and bring joy to you and your guests the whole day.

Here’s what one of our couples had to say about their experience:

“If I had to choose one element of my wedding that truly exceeded all expectations it would be my florals! Hiring Bramble was without a doubt the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding! From the moment I met Alli, I knew she was the right fit, she understood my vision and was extremely excited to make it come to life. Her passion and expertise for the fine details and whimsy certainly showed and I was blown away. I literally squealed when I saw our chuppah! Every detail was stunning and unique, people have still not shut up about how gorgeous our floral arrangements were! Even through personal strife, Alli showed such professionalism and grace. Her team was wonderful, and even though she wasn't there on our big day, her energy and spirit shined though the beauty of her flowers! Alli is truly the best!”
