How do you keep cool in 99 degree weather?? We are fortunate to have a window AC in our living room, which keeps it manageable- just not the bedroom 😬 My studio stays pleasant, but I don’t want to sleep down there! Especially when it’s full of flowers 😆
But really - Portlanders, what’s your fave way to keep cool? Do I need to write emails from a kiddie pool?? 💦

Yesterday I had a quick drop off at the coast. I spent 15 mins watching the green gray ocean full of white caps and waves and kite boarders and cloud shadows scuttling along. Any amount of time at the coast is refreshing and inspiring. And I seriously cannot wait to see photos of the two sweet souls who got married there yesterday! Their love and excitement made each piece I got to work on for them even that much better 💖

Portland is always surprising me with its unexpected weirdness. The natural weirdness - when it’s not even trying! Like what a small world the wedding community is. And how incredibly fun and caring and supportive it can be. 🌿
Yesterday I really got a huge reminder of how cool it is to be part of a community like that. Not only did I get to spend time with my mastermind group with @weddingprocoaching, but I also got meet a few wedding pros I’ve already worked with but didn’t actually know in person at the @artofweddingspdx meet up at @mirandapdx (also- if you haven’t been there yet, you should definitely go visit asap! That’s probably a whole other post, but it’s a new fave for sure!) There was so much encouragement, support, and excitement shared back and forth from so many people - and how amazing is that in an industry that’s often so competitive! It feels so good to get to know people in person, rather than just make guesses about their life and work based on social media. 🌿
I feel so privileged to get to run my business in a place like this. Big thanks to people like Lané, Beth, and Kim, who give so much of themselves to help other people succeed! 💚

Backyard wedding goals right here, friends 🤗 Personal, intimate, earthy, beautiful and not fussy. And it’s hard to beat a hand crafted arch with benches from @something_borrowed_pdx, too. I am so amazed at the thoughtfulness of the couples I get to work with 💕 and now I’m off to run a few errands and then start designing bouquets for this weekend’s wedding! It’s a good thing I work with an ephemeral art, because I’m worlds most attached person: I have such a hard time letting go of things and I fall in love easily.
Take this bouquet from last weekend, for example. I gave it to the bride, but I made sure to take pictures of it, and now I can’t stop looking at them - I’ve got loads of gorgeous photos to share with you, but I’m still not ready to move on from this bouquet!
