It's that time of year... the go go go of the summer is slowing down and it's time for my other favorite time of year - when I get to meet all sorts of rad new couples and be blown away by the creativity, personality, and big love of the folks who choose this corner of the world to get married. • I'm not kidding when I say I have met the most incredible people over the years. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. • I don't have a ton of thoughts today on what feels like yet another chapter in the story of pointless violence that is our country right now. On top of all the destruction of hurricanes - it just feels like a giant, frustrating void to me. But there's no point in being frustrated. If darkness cannot drive out darkness, I'm sure frustration is pretty useless, too. I will continue to point out white privilege, the hypocrisy of being pro-life and pro-gun, and I will also try and do my best to love people any way I can. Those I come in to contact with - both my family and friends, and also the people who don't look, act, or think as I do. I want to reach out more often than I shrink back. I want to give when I feel the burden of others. I want to offer a kind word rather than a criticism. I want to be better than I am today, in hopes that it can make a difference to someone.
